To keep our email service fast, reliable and free of spam, every Mamdali Technology mailbox has fair-use email sending limits. This guide explains what those email sending limits are, so you can plan your emails and avoid any interruption.
Email sending limits per account
These limits apply to every message sent through authenticated SMTP. That mainly means email sent from a mail client such as Outlook or Gmail, and also email sent from your website if it is set up to send through SMTP.
| Messages per email address | 8,000 per 24 hours |
|---|---|
| Recipients per day | 10,000 in total |
| Unique recipients per day | 2,000 |
| Recipients per single email | 100 addresses at most |
How it is counted: if you send 100 emails to 5 different addresses within 24 hours, that counts as 100 messages, 500 total recipients and 5 unique recipients.
Website email limits
Email sent directly by your website, such as contact-form notifications and order emails, has its own limits:
| Messages per day | 500 across all email sent by the web server |
|---|---|
| Maximum email size | 5 MB |
| Applies to | Messages sent with the PHP mail() function |
Email size and autoresponders
| Attachment size | Up to 32 MB |
|---|---|
| Maximum message size | 50 MB |
| Autoresponder | Replies once every 8 hours per sender |
New mailboxes
When a mailbox is first created, it can send up to 50 emails per day for its first 7 days. This is an anti-abuse safeguard. It stops brand-new mailboxes from being used straight away to send large volumes of spam, and it protects the reputation of our email service, so your messages are less likely to land in spam folders. After the first week, the normal limits above apply.
Our spam policy
We have a zero-tolerance approach to unsolicited email, bulk mailing and spam. This is what keeps our email service trusted by receiving mail providers.
Please note: because our email network is spread across several servers, you may occasionally manage to send more than these limits allow. Please don’t rely on this, as it isn’t supported and can change at any time.
Need to send more email?
If you regularly send newsletters or marketing campaigns to a large audience, we recommend a dedicated email-marketing service such as SendGrid, Mailgun or Mailjet. They are built for high-volume sending and give you tracking and unsubscribe tools. Your Mamdali mailbox stays best for everyday business email.
